As a counselor, I believe my role is to help others tap into their own innate and powerful ability to heal. I support my clients in cultivating awareness around the connection between their bodies and minds, in order to deepen their understanding of how they relate to themselves and others. Counseling provides a unique opportunity for self-reflection and learning how to cope with the many stresses of living in order to lead fuller and more meaningful life. Modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and Brainspotting, help to heal from trauma, anxiety and stress.
Other reasons one may seek out counseling is to address feelings of depression or anxiety, to seek support for life transitions and adjustments, address alcohol or drug related difficulties, improve self esteem and self worth or address grief or loss. Body based therapies are helpful for coping with medical traumas including illnesses, pain, chronic conditions and surgery. I am LGBTQIA+ and gender identity affirming. I can offer support in establishing meaningful relationships of all kinds in family, interpersonal, monogamous and polyamorous relationships.
